This Week at Morso
Richard Shindell is on a West Coast tour and is playing a special Friday night concert Oct 26, 2018 at 8pm. Widely acclaimed as one of today's finest narrative songwriters, Shindell has a rare gift for using detail to illuminate his characters' motivations and actions without ever getting mired in minutiae. Originally from New York, now dividing his time between Buenos Aires, Argentina and New York's Hudson Valley, Richard Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be. From his first record, Sparrow's Point, to his current release, Careless, Shindell has explored the possibilities offered by this most elastic and variable of cultural confections: the song. Tickets are available by calling 253-530-3463, $25.

Our next wine dinner is with Sbragia Family Vineyards. The Sbragia family history runs deep in the Dry Creek Valley, beginning in 1904 when Ed's grandfather came to the Valley from Tuscany. Sbragia Family Vineyards was founded in 2001 by Ed Sbragia. Ed Sbragia is a third-generation Dry Creek Valley vintner; he's well-known for his position as Winemaster at Beringer Vineyards in Napa, where he worked for 32 years. Ed Sbragia is the only winemaker in the world to be honored with the distinction of having received the Wine Spectator "#1 Wine of the Year" award for both a red and a white wine-a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay, respectively. Today, Ed is joined by his son, Adam Sbragia, as winemaker. We have a five-course dinner planned beginning at 6:30pm on November 29, 2018 with Andrew McPherson from Sbragia Family Vineyards leading our program. Call 253-530-3463 for tickets.
