This Week at Morso
On Friday April 20, 2018 from 5-7pm we are featuring a chance to try an amazing group of Chilean Wines with our friend Kristi Duke. If you are unfamiliar with the Chilean wine areas, from North to South, Chile has six main regions set between coastal, valley, and mountain range geographical areas. They include Atacama, Coquimbo, Aconcagua, Central Valley, South and Austral, and are further divided into 17 sub-regions. This would be a great time to learn more about the wines from this area as it is just the end of their 2018 harvest.
We will be featuring:
Vina Echeverria 2016 Reserva Sauvignon Blanc Curicó Valley
Garage Wine 2016 Pais Maule Valley
Tres Palacios 2012 Family Reserve Carmenere Cholqui Valley
Viu Manent 2014 Vibo Vinedo Centenario Colchagua Valley
Elqui 2015 Malbec Elqui Valley Garage Wine 2015 Cabernet Renacido Vineyard #64 Maipo Valley
There is a $5 fee/person for this event that is applied to the purchase of these wines. Any wines purchased from the event may be served without a corkage fee on the night of purchase.
Pearl Django is back for another great evening of music on Saturday April 21, 2018 beginning at 8p, $27.50/ticket. Panning more than two decades, Pearl Django endures as one of the most highly regarded Hot Club style groups working today. Although the band's roots are firmly in the music made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, its extensive repertoire includes traditional jazz classics and original compositions. Pearl Django has performed at festivals, dances and nightspots throughout the U.S. and abroad. They have played at the prestigious Festival Django Reinhardt in Samois sur Seine and have been featured on NPR's "All Things Considered." The band's signature style is marked by pristine and dexterous string work, colors of Bal Musette, the steady pulse of rhythm guitar and an unmistakable swing that delights audiences of all musical sensibilities.
