This Week at Morso
Each generation seems to have some different term for saying they like something or that something is great. Do you remember all of these? Cool, Groovy, Hip, Rad, Tubular, Wicked, Boss, Gnarly, Dyno-mite? Did you or do you still say them?
Well whatever terms you used, this week’s musical group hits them all. The Sweet Spot Combo performs on Saturday September 22, 2108 at 8pm. This is the hottest new group from Seattle featuring Matthew Stull, Ben Lang and David Salonen. Sweet Spot Combo mines its material from the deep vein of gold that is mid 20th century music. They share a passion for the swing, jazz and popular music of that era. From the Mills Brothers to the Four Freshmen to the Rat Pack and beyond, they love it all. Upright bass, guitar, cocktail drums and 3 voices make for a lush wall of sound. Call 253-530-3463 for tickets, $20.
You might remember Matthew Stull from the Grammy-nominated The Bobs who played regularly at Morso to sold out crowds. We are so excited to have Matthew back with his new group! They released their first self-titled CD on March 19, 2018.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay reign supreme! Both just declared California's State Beverages! Ok that's fake news, but it seems anything can happen these days. To highlight this sentiment of many wine drinkers, we are featuring Chardonnay andCabernet Sauvignon from outstanding California producers Decoy, Chateau St Jean and Martin Ray on Friday Sept 21 from 5-7pm with our good friend Jack Chase.
We will be presenting:
Decoy 2016 Chardonnay Sonoma County
Chateau St. Jean 2015 Belle Terre Vineyard Chardonnay Alexander Valley
Martin Ray 2017 Chardonnay Sonoma County
Chateau St. Jean 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley
Martin Ray 2015 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Decoy 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County

On Saturday, September 22nd, the Schottenhamel tent in Munich is the place to be, if you want to catch the official opening ceremonies of Oktoberfest. At noontime, the lord mayor of Munich will have the honor of tapping the first keg of Oktoberfest beer. Half way around the world, we will also begin celebrating the beginning of Oktoberfest at Morso by tapping our Oktoberfest beer. We love beer and we tap our Ayinger Oktoberfest beer direct from Germany and serve brats beginning at Noon on September 22!
Our new art show is Portals of Luminous Color: A Solo Exhibition by Caylin Rose Janet from September 11- October 14, 2018. Please come and see Caylin beautiful unique work.
