Claude Monet Bastille Day
Bastille Day Celebration
Friday July 14, 2017
Wine Tasting from 5-7pm
This Friday we join in the celebration of Bastille Day with a wine tasting fit for this French holiday. Bastille Day commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, and the unity of the French people at the Fête de la Fédération on 14 July 1790. Celebratory foods for this holiday are often more low key picnic style dishes and we will have a great Nicoise Salad from Provence, Mussels with Garlic and White Wine from the Loire, caramelized onion and cheese Tarte Flambee Flatbread from Paris and French ham and Comte cheese sandwich called Croque Savoyard from its' home of Savoy.
As part of the Bastille Day celebration, we have a great tasting of French wines with our good friend Georges Philippe Bouyer this Friday July 14, 2017 from 5-7pm. We will be featuring:
Domaine Collet NV Cremant de Bourgogne
Domaine Gadais 2015 Muscadet Saint Fiacre Sur Lie
Chateau Graville-Lacoste 2015 Graves Blanc
Domaine Trinquevedel 2016 Tavel Rose
Domaine Joguet 2014 Chinon Cuvée Terroir
Chateau Puy Blanquet 2012 St Emilion Bordeaux
There is a $5 fee/person for this tasting event that is applied to the purchase of these wines. Any wines purchased from the tasting may be served without a corkage fee on the night of the tasting.
