Have you ever wondered if beer would have been a better match than the wine you selected for a given dish? Contrarily, who could ever select beer as a better match than wine for a meal that wasn't pub grub?
Well, we have a special event where we have set up the ultimate challenge with our Beer vs Wine Dinner. Who will win? Your vote will decide. This bout will consist of five rounds featuring both beer and wine; you get to vote on which works the best with each dish. Are you ready to rumble? This is an event you won't want to miss!
We are featuring the beers from Fort George in Astoria OR represented by Hoyt Smith. Hoyt is the Beer Buddha for Fort George brewery, and loves all things food and drink. He loves smoking meats, growing hot peppers in his garden, and making home brew and mead for his friends. He will bring a range of unpasteurized, unfiltered Fort George beers, most of which are available all year, and all created with sustainability and good food in mind.
The wines have been selected by Sarah Timbrook-Nugent. Sarah is a Wine and Spirits Education Trust level 3 and has also completed winery production coursework at the Northwest Wine Academy in Seattle. She has put together a selection of wines that had to be under $20 a bottle from the portfolio of Elliott Bay Distributing just for this event and to keep you dining in style all summer long.
