White, Rose and Red Cotes-du-Rhone with Avery Genge
Friday August 11, 2015
Our good friend Avery Genge will be with us on August 11, 2017 from 5-7pm to explore the wines from the Cotes-du-Rhone. The appellation of Côtes du Rhône allows for 22 grape varieties. Being such a wide classification, it's a surprise and joy that so many of these wines reach such a high quality. While there are areas in the Northern Rhône that meet the classification of Côtes du Rhône, most all of this appellation is in the Southern Rhône. Wines here are based mostly on Grenache, like other Rhône reds, while the whites focus on Marsanne and Roussanne.
We will be featuring:
Catherine Le Goeuil 2014 Cotes du Rhone Blanc Domaine de la Mordoree 2016 Cotes du Rhone Rose Xavier 2015 Cotes du Rhone Domaine Grand Veneur 2014 Cotes du Rhone "Les Champauvins" Chateau de Segries 2012 Lirac Rouge Cuvee Reserve Domaine Alain Graillot 2015 Crozes-Hermitage
There is a $5 fee/person for this tasting event that is applied to the purchase of these wines. Any wines purchased from the tasting may be served without a corkage fee on the night of the tasting.
