Taste the Barolo of Livia Fontana with Lorenzo Fontana
Special Meet the Italian Winemaker Tasting
Wed October 4, 2017 5-7 pm
This beautiful winery was founded in 1820 by Ettore Fontana. Now in its 8th generation, it is owned and operated by Livia Fontana together with her two sons, Michele and Lorenzo. They still follow the same philosophy as their ancestors - with hard work and love for their territory and nature.
The winery is located in the middle of the wine hills of Castiglione Falletto, one of the 11 villages that has the right and privilege to produce Barolo wine. The nine hectare vineyard surrounds the cantina - using no herbicides, pesticides or additives in the cultivation and production of its wines. - is positioned on two excellent Barolo crus - Villero and Bussia. The vines have an average age of 40 years, with some of them having been planted as far back as 1938. Join us Wednesday, October 4th from 5 to 7pm to taste the very special wines of Livia Fontana, with special guest Lorenzo Fontana.
We will be featuring:
Livia Fontana Langhe 2015 Arneis
Livia Fontana 2016 Rosato (Barbera, Nebbiolo)
Livia Fontana 2014 Nebbiolo
