Wines for Halibut
Friday June 15, 2018 5-7pm
This Friday June 15, 2018 from 5-7pm, we have a very special tasting geared toward one of our favorite fish, halibut. We will be searching the world for wines that pair with this fish in the many ways it can be prepared, whether with citrus sauces, fruit sauces and of course with just a beautiful butter sauce. We are excited to have our great friend Ty Cline back to help us with this event. Many of you will remember Ty from when we worked together at Water to Wine and the opening of Morso. So please come and enjoy the wines we are presenting this week and renew your acquaintance with Ty. Here are the wines:
Cooper Hill 2016 Pinot Gris Willamette Valley, Oregon
Matthews Cellars 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Columbia Valley, Washington
Pazo Senorans 2017 Albariño Rías Baixas, Spain
De Wetshof 2017 "Lesca" Chardonnay Robertson Valley, South Africa
Domaine Lafage 2016 "Novellum" Chardonnay Pays d'Oc Languedoc, France
Additionally, we have a beautiful Halibut and Clams dish as a special. Based on the classic Basque dish, fresh halibut is pan seared and oven roasted with white wine, butter and parsley then served with fresh in shell Manilla clams.
There is a $5 fee/person for this event that is applied to the purchase of these wines. Any wines purchased from the event may be served without a corkage fee on the night of purchase.
